Laklouk Resort

Lebanon’s family mountain plateau, honestly guided.

Where to stay on the Laqlouq plateau

Laqlouq (Laklouk, لقلوق) has two named hotel options and roughly 200 chalets. If you want a hotel, this page names both and calls the pick. If you want a chalet, we lay out the three ways to book: Booking.com, Airbnb, and (year 2) our direct-owner broker service.

The two hotels

Shangri La Hotel Laklouk is the plateau’s year-round option and our pick if you want a hotel: 1850 m altitude, 5-minute drive to the ski lift, 90 minutes from Beirut in dry conditions. Rooms $110 in shoulder season, $180 to $250 in ski peak. Unrelated to the global Shangri-La chain; the name is a coincidence of romanisation. Read the full review.

Laklouk Village Vacances is quieter and more traditional: the original 1958 resort footprint, family rooms sleeping 4 to 6, half-board packages in ski peak. Restaurant hours are less reliable off-season. Read the full review.

The chalet market

Booking.com carries roughly 15 Laqlouq chalets with instant booking. Airbnb carries 40 to 60. The remaining 150+ chalets are rented direct by owners through Facebook and WhatsApp networks, which is a real gap for diaspora travellers and one we plan to broker for in year 2. For a group of 6 to 8, expect $120 to $250 per night off-peak; for New Year, budget $400 to $700 per night; book 4 months ahead for New Year peak.
